Don’t miss the first annual State of Black Maine Symposium this Juneteenth at USM in Portland!

A day of rich conversation, music, connection, learning and celebration.

Featuring artistic performances by local Black artists, panel discussions between Black elders and youth about their experiences growing up in Maine, delicious food by Black Betty’s Bistro, a vendor fair, dynamic conversations on the state of Black business, education, justice, and the arts.

The State of Black Maine Symposium aims to create and sustain a public platform to amplify Black Maine voices, unify across difference, build solidarity, foster collaboration, hold space for creative expression, and inspire bold collective visioning.
